Nice book from Rob Simon provided an entertaining look at a problem that many people throughout the world face every night - snoring. He detailed his journey for a cure - and he literally tried about
everything. He partnered his experience with the scientific data of why we snored and well as what worked for others and the effectiveness of each method throughout the snoring world. It was also a fairly quick read.
On the downside, a lot of the information is readily available for free on the Internet. He did do an excellent job of compiling lots of knowledge in one source that had me laughing on several occasions. Personally, I would rather read a 150 pages book than comb through 25 websites to find the information that I really want.
In summary, don't think reading this book is going to automatically sure your snoring. You have to actually follow through and attempt many different strategies to see what works for you.

This is the third Snore Eliminator I have purchased. The bottom line is that it works. My wife does not hear me snoring now. A side benefit is that the snore eliminator helps to restore my voice. Mouth breathing had reduced my voice to a whisper at times, but after using the S/E my voice came back. The only problem I have found has been with the preparation. It has to be submerged in boiling water and then shaped to the teeth-gums. If you leave the S/E too long in the water, or allow it to tip over when it is hot, then the plastic can collapse and ruin the device. I did this once and there was no remedy. I tried re-heating but that did not help. Despite the risk in the preparation I would buy another one. DLS

I find the mouth piece to be big and uncomfortable. It's so thick that my tongue can't lie normally in my mouth. Whenever I wake up at night, I find that I have spit the thing out in my sleep. According to my husband, the snore stopper has cut down on the volume of my snoring. It's now kind of wheeze instead of a much louder snore that used to wake him up. It's basically a small clip that you insert between your nostrils and it pushes your nose open wider. You feel it at first but after a minute or so you forget it's there.My biggest complaint is that it may come out during the night. Unless you sleep on your back all night (which most snorers try not to do), moving onto your side or stomach while asleep can knock the clip out of your nose. On some of the nights I've used it, I've found it in the morning in the bed next to me and even on the floor. So, if this happens, just make sure to find it soon. It's delicate and will NOT survive being crushed or stepped on.

This reusable nasal dilator works good for a lot better breathing while sleeping and has greatly reduced my snoring as far as I (and my husband) can tell. I really don't notice it in my nose and it works a lot better than the nasal strips. The salespeople are nice and helpful, and I think it was definitely worth the price. One suggestion would be to be able to order this in a "variety" package of a few slightly different sizes so that one could use the dilator that best fits their nasal cavity, and have some spare ones available in case it gets lost or for travel. › See all 3 customer reviews...

When you start snoring it give you a little muscle twitch just under the device on your wrist. I pretty much leave it on max so it wakes me up when I snore. That way I can adjust my sleep position. It's nice that it uses a standard AAA battery. It turns off after 8 hours so the batteries last longer. My only complaint is the small replacement pads will run out eventually and I need to find out how to get more. You can apply a bit of water to the pads each night to keep them working good. |
